Spirituality Expressed through Art
The New Orleans Archdiocesan Spirituality Center is savoring the joy from its recent focus, "Embracing Spirituality through Creativity."
More than 20 women gathered for art and prayer, led by Ann LaBauve, spiritual director and potter, who received her training from Sr. Dot Trosclair, OP, of the Spirituality Center. Prayer, scripture and song emphasized the goodness of creation and the presence of light.
Attendees were guided through prayerful meditation utilizing clay that encouraged them to identify their gifts and talents honed over the years. The women transitioned into a creative exercise where they hand-built clay luminaries. The process of shaping the clay was a reminder of their potential to be light for others by utilizing their unique gifts. Please see a few pictures by clicking here.
Death of A Sister
Sr. Alvina Miller, OP who passed away February 3, became a Sister when she was just 14 years old. She is being remembered for many things including her dedication to education. Please see a recognition of her years of service in this obituary.
