Congregational News
Friars visit Columbus 
Thirteen novice friars from the Eastern Province visited Mohun and the Columbus Motherhouse during their Christmas break. After visiting the Sisters at Mohun, they attended morning Mass on Friday, then joined the Sisters in the Motherhouse for lunch. The novice friars treated the Sisters to a cappella Christmas music before continuing their tour of the Motherhouse. Please see some highlights from the day here.

Death of a Sister
Please see the obituary for Sr. Dominic Haug, OP who died December 3 at the Great Bend infirmary. She was a native of Seneca, Kansas and a dedicated servant for many years in the health care field. You can read about her life here.

Death of a Sister
Please see the obituary for Sr. Juanita Henley,OP who died December 4 in Richland, Ohio. She lived in Barberton and spent more than 40 years as a teacher, mostly in Northeast Ohio. You can read about her life here. 

Prayer Requests

  • Sr. Rita Birzer (Waterford, MI, ritabirzer@hotm​ail.com) requests prayer for her 100-year-old brother-in-law, Eugene Macek, who passed away Christmas morning. Please also pray for the comfort of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  
  • Sr. Renee Dreiling (Great Bend, KS, renee.dreiling@​oppeace.com) requests prayer for Karen Pitner Luckett, the sister of Associate Kim Pitner Keller (Olathe, KS, kpitnerkeller@g​mail.com). Karen died December 29 from complications from a fall and the resulting surgery. Sr. Renee also asks for prayer for Dr. Danny Murray who will have a serious back surgery on January 9. He is a young chiropractor who still needs to work.

Sr. Margaret Mary Kennedy is happy to announce a new citizen. Maria Esther Godoy is grateful for all your prayers. Maria helped prepare for her citizenship test at the Springs Learning Center. Congratulations
