Peace & Justice Update
Showing Up for Peace
Our Columbus Sisters took action against gun violence this week.
They participated in a Linden area walk wearing "Promote Peace" messages and showing support to one of Columbus' vulnerable neighborhoods.
These walks bring city representatives, faith leaders, "Moms Demand Action" members and others together as one force that offers support to neighbors.
Please go here for a look.
There is another justice gathering planned for tomorrow, (July 17), from 4:30 to 6 pm at 17th Street's Second Baptist Church, commemorating the 5th anniversary of John Lewis' death.

Honoring Sr. Dot Trosclair, OP
Earlier this month, The Ignatian Spirituality Project (ISP) of New Orleans came together for an evening of celebration, honoring Sr. Dot Trosclair for her years of generous service and spiritual leadership.
Yvonne Hymel reflected on Sr. Dot's contributions to ISP and as Director of the Archdiocesan Spirituality Center, “Meeting with the team facilitating the retreats in preparation, she stirred the Spirit... then like Jesus, she sent us forth to bring the Good News.”
One of Sr. Dot’s most enduring legacies is her leadership in growing the ministry of spiritual direction throughout Louisiana.
Please go here to see some pictures from the day honoring Sr. Dot.

Prayer Requests

  • Sr. Joan Franklin (Columbus, OH, joan.franklin@oppeace.org) requests prayer for her nephew, Dan Cerimele, who has been hospitalized with diverticulitis.
  • Associate Ann Warlick (Memphis, TN, warlickann@gmail.com) asks for prayer for a successful surgery and speedy recovery for Associate Mary Abby Tagg of Memphis. Mary's abdominal surgery is scheduled for this Thursday.
  • Associate Jan Brown (St. Louis, MO, janebopa@gmail.com) has requested that we keep her close friend Rosetta Saputo in prayer. She was told Monday that her second round of Chemo is not working and that there is nothing more they can do. They are doing Immunotherapy to hopefully give her a little more time to see family and friends.
