Peace & Justice Update
Columbus Walk for Peace
Monday marked another anti- gun violence walk in the Linden area that brought together those united in a deep desire to end gun violence.
This trek included neighborhood residents, youth leaders, Dominican Sisters, Moms Demand Action, police officers, OSU representatives, Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein, public health department employees, and faith leaders. Some walkers have lost family members on the very streets of the walk.
Free gun locks were passed out and the dangers of unsecured guns was addressed.
Through time, more young people are joining the walks and are visiting with the residents to tell them about upcoming events and youth opportunities. The group raises awareness of the epidemic of gun violence and the need for common-sense gun safety.
The walks occur twice each month from April through October.
