Community Days
Saturday Highlights
"Pilgrims of Hope" is the theme of this Jubilee year.
The topics of hope and joy were also key subjects of Saturday's discussions, prayer and song.
Sr. Marge Kloos, SC, facilitator, encouraged Sisters and Associates to reflect about the need for hope and joy and discuss their part in bringing the qualities to the world.
Intentions included:
-Listening for the spirit in one another's sharing
-Hearing perspectives about joy and hope
-Engaging with others about closer collaboration with other Dominican Congregations
-Exchanging perspectives about the significance of sending one another into the world as preachers - tending to those who need witness of hope and joy
Sisters from afar were included in the discussions via video, and those gathered in Columbus listened intently to the responses.

Sisters and Associates were asked what was rising up in their discussions and answers ranged from feelings of solidarity with others, gratitude for following the light, and struggling to hold on to hope in the world we live in.
Time was dedicated for prayer and reflection from Sisters Barb Sullivan, Pat Connick and Annie Killian. One prayer asked for ... a call to be gifted with a spirit of wisdom and courage that we may look lovingly at the real and see the world's needs...
The afternoon continued with more discussion and this question:
"As you think about closer collaboration in the United States, what gives you encouragement of the future of our shared spirit?"
Sisters from Mohun Health Care Center were brought into the conversation in a video that is available here.
Those present spoke out about the need to support other Sisters as collaborations deepen with time.
Other points for discussion involved finding opportunities to respond to what is happening in the world and figuring how we can we send one another out as preachers.
Sisters and Associates spoke about the need to dream without limits, a willingness to participate from Associates, the idea of peacemaking as a revolution and acting in solidarity on world issues.
Saturday ended in song and a message of gratitude for all gathered.
