Message from Dominican Sisters Conference
Tuesday, June 24 Catholic Sisters will unite in Washington to speak out against budget cuts that will hurt the most vulnerable.
Saying the rosary from afar is another way to unite with this cause.
The Dominican Sisters of Hope invite you to go here to register for a rosary Zoom session scheduled for tomorrow (Tuesday) at 10 a.m.

Office News
Director of Operations 
Candice Greenwade is Columbus' new Director of Operations and she got the chance to introduce herself to some of the Sisters at lunch on Monday.
She will be in charge of creating a safe and comfortable residence for the Dominican Sisters of Peace who reside in the Motherhouse.
No doubt you will see her in the dining hall, conferring with the housekeeping staff, helping with personal services for the Motherhouse residents and much more.

Sunday at Martin de Porres
The "Summer of Mariposas" was the event of the weekend at the MDP Center, where a group of learners came together to learn about plant care. 
Two of the group's adults led a class in Spanish on how to care for plants in the home. 
The summer happening stems from the mission of Project Mariposas, to create an environment of learning, sharing and support to Latina girls and their mothers.

Death of a Sister
Today, we fondly remember Sr. Marita Charley, OP who died May 30 in Columbus. We are grateful for her ministry in education, where she served many students and their families in several states.  Please see her obituary by clicking here

Prayer Requests

  • Sr. Barb Harrington (Norwood, MA, barbara.harring​ton@oppeace.org​) asks for prayer for Lou and her family. Lou is suffering from metastatic cancer and has three children under the age of 10. Lou believes her death is imminent and hopes for her family life to remain as normal as possible and she asks for a prayer for wisdom and peace for her husband.
  • Sr Maryann Lawlor (Columbus, Ohio, mlaw115@att.net​) requests prayer as she will have heart valve surgery on Wednesday.
  • Associate Anna Hart (Port Richey, FL, ahart4242@gmail​.com) asks for prayer for Associate Josephine Cannata, who died on June 10 in Port Richey, Florida.
