Peace & Justice Update
Peace & Non-Violence Committee Invitation
Since 2010 the Peace Committee has served as a voice for nonviolence in a world continually marked by violence.
Early in its history, the committee initiated work on corporate stances on gun safety and the death penalty. Those involved have participated in the World Day of Pray for Peace, the Month for Peace, and in the past have led study of various aspects of Peace & Non-Violence.
As we enter Lent, the Peace Committee would like to widen its circle and is inviting interested Sisters and Associates to join with them in their monthly meeting of study, prayer, advocating, planning, and initiating actions for peace, justice, and non-violence.
The committee meets by Zoom, discussing articles and books on peace and justice and encourages active involvement of members and the wider congregation in local and national issues.
Please contact Sr. June Fitzgerald, june.fitzgerald@oppeace.org, or any member of the committee including Sr. Judy Morris, Sr. Kay Mahady, Sr. Gemma Doll, Associates Michelle Grey, and Kevin and Chris Cahalan for more information. You can find their e-mail addresses on the Private Pages.

St. Catharine's version of Mardi Gras
The St. Catharine Motherhouse is still remembering the great Mardi Gras celebration that included a delicious cook-out style lunch of grilled hamburgers, hotdogs, potato salad and mouth-watering King Cakes provided by Sr. Pat Connick.
Following lunch, jazz filled the air as residents gathered in the fireside dining room to enjoy “special Jello treats,” popcorn and lemonade and a dice game that was played for prizes.
Thanks goes to Activities Director Danielle Nation for the decorations, game, and the “special Jello,” and to the Food Service Staff for a delicious lunch.
