The kitchen staff at the Great Bend Motherhouse took advantage of a spring day to treat sisters and staff to a picnic luncheon on the Motherhouse Patio. The weather was perfect, the meal delicious, and the company superb. Click here for photos of the day.

Prayer Requests

  • Sr. June Fitzgerald (New Haven, CT, june.fitzgerald@oppeace.org) requests prayer for her uncle, Denis Rossi, who died after a short illness, and for Mary Welborn, former secretary at St. Stanislaus Parish,  who is in the ICU with pneumonia and is an induced coma.
  • Sr. Marlene Dimmerling (Marlene.Dimmerl​ing@oppeace.org​) asks for prayers for a good friend, Father John Van Deuren, who died April 19. He was Marlene’s Sacramental Minister for eight years at her parish in Wisconsin.
  • Sr. Rita Schwarzenberger (Kaduna, ritasis@gmail.com) requests prayers for the Capuchin community here in Nigeria and worldwide.  In a tragic accident, the bus in which they were riding had a tire problem and went off a cliff, according to the message that reached us. Seven young men were killed and six injured. 
  • Associate Judy Spangler (Hoisington, KS, 2898judysp@gmai​l.com) has requested prayer for a peaceful repose for long-time Associate Teresa Spangler, 71, who passed away May 14, 2025, at Azria Health Woodhaven, Great Bend, Kansas.
