Faith and Community Leaders Unite
About 120 faith and community advocates gathered together May 1 at the Ohio statehouse to present a call for a more just budget for Ohio.

Events
Honoring a True Giver
Sr. Shawn Fitzpatrick 's dedication at the Dominican Learning Center was celebrated at a get together in Columbus this week.
She is retiring after spending 11 years as a director of the DLC and the same number of years as a volunteer tutor.  (It is important to note that she is still doing a little tutoring at Mohun Health Center!)
She also spent many years as a teacher and a principal - more reasons why retirement is so well-deserved.
Thanks to Sr. Shawn for her joyful spirit, unwavering dedication and deep compassion.
Please go here to see some wonderful photos from the gathering for our Sister and some messages of thanks.

Prayer Requests
Sr. Ellen Coates (New Haven, CT, ellen.coates@oppece.org) requests prayers for Bobby, the nephew of her friend and colleague Deacon Vinny Raby, and his family. Bobby has been diagnosed with inoperable sarcoma that is growing at an unprecedented rate.
Sr. Theresa Fox (St. Catharine, KY, theresa.fox@oppeace.org) asks for prayer for her sister-in-law, Marilyn Fox. She has been diagnosed with a rare and very serious heart condition - constrictive pericarditis. She has had many tests and is waiting to hear results from her surgeon.
