Dominican Family News
National Dominican College Preaching Conference

A memorable five-day preaching conference wrapped up last Sunday at St. Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill, NY.
Six students from Albertus Magnus College attended the event with Sr. Cathy Buchanan as their mentor and Sr. Annie Killian attended with three students from Ohio Dominican University.
A total of eight Dominican colleges and universities took part in the gathering and connected through our shared Dominican culture and charism.
Sr. Ana Gonzalez, Sr. Susan Olson, Sr. June Fitzgerald and Sr. Paula Danforth helped with presentations and liturgy planning.

New Orleans High School on the Big Stage
St. Mary's High School and Alumnae Choirs recently performed at Carnegie Hall with other choirs from around the country.

Last month's Sung Vespers in the Spirit of Taize, remembering Pope Francis, was a good experience for many.

  • Sr. Mary Ann Connolly (Columbus, OH, maryann.connoll​y@oppeace.org) requests prayer. She is seriously ill and in the hospital. 
  • Sr. Annette Lucero (New Haven, CT, annette.lucero@​oppeace.org) requests prayer for her brother Toby Lucero who has suffered a heart attack and is hospitalized.
  • Associate Judy Spangler (Hoisington, KY, 2898judys@gmail​.com) requests prayer for Lorraina Robies who has a mass in her stomach and is in pain. The request is to also pray that a biopsy for Lorraina comes back negative. 
  • Staff member/ Associate Donna Medley (Louisville, KY, LSM8106@gmail.c​om) asks for prayer for staff member and Associate Cathy Edelen (St. Catharine, KY) who recently underwent surgery and contracted pneumonia.
  • Mohun staff member Mariatu Conteh requests prayer for her child Conneth Kendal King.
