Associate Commitment Ceremony: May 8
The celebration of our newest Associates making their commitments happens tomorrow (May 8) at the Columbus Motherhouse.
We warmly welcome these new Associates to our community and are grateful for the chance to celebrate with them during the commitment ceremony.

Kentucky Jubilee Celebration
The last Tuesday in April marked a day of honoring nine of our Sansbury Care Center Sisters celebrating their Jubilee.
Srs. Veronica Colahan and Corina Padilla celebrated 75 years; Srs. Helen Cahill, Ann Daylor and Patricia Rae McNamara each celebrating 70 years; Srs. Mary Christoffel, Clara Hoang Luu, Elaine Shaw and Julia Grey are celebrating 65 years.
Father Pier Georgio Dengler, OP presided and gave the reflection at the Mass.

Human Trafficking Advocate Visits Columbus Motherhouse

Akron Event with Sr. Joanne

Derby Day in Kentucky
The Kentucky Sisters at the St. Catharine Motherhouse really know what to do on Derby Day. 
If you live in the bluegrass state, you are connected to the event.
The party was celebrated by all as you will see by clicking here.

Memphis' Version: Derby Day
Associates in Memphis understand how to celebrate the "Run for the Roses" too!
About 20 associates, (including two new candidates), and guests gathered for their annual party.
The day included a St. Catherine of Siena Prayer Service and a delightful prayer for the Derby horses, jockeys, trainers.
The event, of course, included delicious food, a little wagering, and voting for the best hats.
All were thankful for the common bond of their Kentucky Dominican roots. Please see pictures from the day here

Columbus Celebrates Derby Day
Not to be outdone, the Sisters in Columbus shared special green beverages, fancy hats, and a few wagers at their Derby Day party. Click here for photos.

Prayer Requests

  • Sr. Barbara Rapp (St. Catharine, KY, barbara.rapp@op​peace.org) asks for prayer for Sr. Elaine Shaw's sister, Janella Soares, who has died. The request is to also remember Janella's son, Michael, in prayer.
  • Sr. June Fitzgerald (New Haven, CT, june.fitzgerald​@oppeace.org) requests prayer for her uncle, Denis Rossi, who fell, has has pneumonia and is in ICU.  

Notes of Gratitude 

  •  Associate Mary Delaney (Westerville, OH, mdelaney0606@ g​mail.com) sends thanks prayers offered as her husband, Bob, begins chemotherapy.  She asks for continued prayer throughout this process.
