You can click here for the summary of the DSC Leaders meeting that Sr. Anne Lythgoe talked about on the webcast. Please be sure to put it on your list of things to read. During the coming year, we will be hearing more about the work of the Visioning and Planning Committee who offers a clear description of the pathways open to us, moving together with the other Dominican congregations. The leaders have been discerning together and now the invitation is to you, our Sisters, to not only be informed, but also to engage in the questions facing us.

Founded Ministry Affinity Gatherings
Ministry leaders from Dominican Sisters of Peace-sponsored farms and ecology centers traveled together through Ohio and Kentucky October 8-11th to share, learn, and collaborate. Shepherd's Corner kicked the week off with a hayride tour of the property and a visit with Maggie the llama and the flock of sheep before conversations on best practices for ecological ministries began in the barn. At Crown Point Ecology Center, ministry leaders hiked a trail, got to see the community supported agriculture program in action, and explored the barn, fields, and high tunnels. Finally, the group gathered at St. Catharine Farm in Kentucky for a hayride through the cattle pastures and a history lesson, stopping at the site of the previous St. Catharine Motherhouse. In 2025, these ministry leaders will all travel to visit Heartland Farm in Kansas to continue the conversation!
Leaders Collaborate
On October 15-18th, leaders of our sponsored retreat ministries gathered in Niskayuna, New York, for a week of conversations on best practices and opportunities to collaborate. The group had the chance to tour the Dominican Retreat and Conference Center, attend a hybrid (online and in-person) program being offered on contemplation, visit Siena College to see their heritage edition of the St. John's Bible, and take in the fall colors at Thacher State Park. The Office of Founded Ministries thanks Sr. Sue and her staff for their hospitality! These leaders will come together again in 2025 at Heartland Center for Spirituality in Great Bend, Kansas.
Please go here to enjoy some photos of our ministries coming together for prayer, study, and community!
