Memorable Associate Ceremony
It was a joyful commitment ceremony on Monday, October 7th, in Southwest Kansas. Four discerning women made their commitment that evening.
More than a year ago, Doris Meng, Norma Alvarez, Deanna Johnston, from the Cathedral of our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, and Karen Harrington, from Saint Andrew Parish in Wright, Kansas, began their discernment process with other Associates and the Dominican Sisters in Kansas.
Through prayer, study, community, and ministry and on the "Feast of the Holy Rosary" daily Mass was offered in at the cathedral. After that Mass, Dominican Sisters Rose Mary, Rebecca, Roserita, and other former Dominican Associates accepted and affirmed the four new members in a commitment ceremony.
Family, friends, parishioners, Bishop John Brungardt and Fr. John Stang witnessed their commitment to a vocation of faith and peace. All are being asked to offer prayer for the new associates. Please see some of the images of the day by clicking here.

Moving Right Along at the Siena Learning Center
The Siena Learning Center, our adult learning center in Connecticut, is settling into its new home at 114 West Main Street in downtown New Britain.
Those involved believe it is a positive change for all and especially the learners. Now, they are on a bus line, close to the public library and right next to a Literacy Volunteer Program location and the YWCA, which also teaches ESL.
A ribbon cutting was held recently and attended by Sisters, those from our Founded Ministries, and community leaders. Please click here to see some images from the day. Good luck to all at the new location!
