Congregational News
Sponsor a Sister, Help a Refugee
Sr. Shingai Chigwedere is currently ministering at Community Refugee & Immigration Services (CRIS), an independent non-profit organization that serves the refugee and immigrant populations in Central Ohio. The organization will host its largest annual event: the CRIS 5K + Advocacy Fair, on Saturday, October 5.

This is the eleventh year that CRIS will host a five-kilometer run/walk, and it has become so much more than a race–it is an advocacy fair, a time for our entire community to come together, and a celebration of all of the communities CRIS serves and represents.

Sisters Annie Killian and Terri Schell plan to run in the race, and Sr. Shingai will be walking. If you want to donate to sponsor Team Peace, click here.

If you would like to attend the event and cheer our Sisters on, the details are below.

When: Saturday, October 5, 2024 - Registration begins at 8 am, Race begins at 10 am
Where: Genoa Park in downtown Columbus, 303 W. Broad Street (near COSI)
What: Run and/or walk a 3.1 mile course through downtown Columbus or complete a one-mile walk; there are also two free kids races, one for ages 6 and under and one for ages 7-10.
