Call to Action:  Time to Vote
Election Day is fast approaching!
We have the option to vote early, vote in-person on Election Day - Tuesday, November 3, or vote absentee with a mail-in ballot.

As we mark the 250th anniversary of the United States, we are reminded of the Fifteenth Amendment of the Constitution: The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude.

Catholic Social Teaching calls us to community and participation as active citizens.

Pope Francis has said: “…we are called to direct society to the pursuit of the common good and with this purpose in mind, to persevere in consolidating its political and social order, its fabric of relations, its human goals.”

Voting is a right. It also our duty as citizens to participate in choosing leaders and selecting public policy.

Please assist friends and family to get out and VOTE.

Ministry Leaders Wrap Up Meeting
Our ministry leaders are on their way home after sharing ideas, prayer, Mass, meals and networking time together this week at the Martin de Porres Center.

Members of the group learned a lot from each other and from presentations about moral leadership, interdependence in a tech-paced time, and other topics.

Thank you to all our ministry leaders for all you do to serve others every day!

Events
Thank you, Sister Rosemary!
Friday has been a memorable day for Sr. Rosemary Loomis, OP, who officially "retired" after ministering for "18 years plus" at the congregation's Springs Press.

Today, she passes the torch to Sr. Mary Deane, OP.

She told the well-wishers that the aim of her ministry at the Press through the years was to try to make everyone else's life easier.

Thank you for serving at the Press, Sr. Rosemary, and for your words of inspiration that you always share!

Please see a few highlights from today's retirement party by clicking here.
